North American Meat Association (NAMA) is pleased to announce Congressman Jim Costa will honor the association by appearing as a guest speaker on Saturday, March 22 at its Meat Industry Management Conference and Annual Meeting.

Representing California’s 16th Congressional District since 2005, Rep. Costa has been a strong supporter of the meat industry and a friend to this association over the years. Being a third-generation family farmer means he knows our issues well and understands the vital economic contributions of agriculture in general. In addition, Costa serves on two powerful House Committees: the Committee on Agriculture; and the Committee on Natural Resources.

“Representative Jim Costa has done an amazing job of keeping the House of Representatives focused on the most important issues for agriculture, for California and the entire country,” said NAMA CEO Barry Carpenter. “We’re enormously appreciative of his efforts and greatly honored that he is going to speak at our event.”

The NAMA Meat Industry Management Conference and Annual Meeting is to be held March 19-22, 2014, Westin Mission Hills, Rancho Mirage, California. Complete details and registration is available online at http://meatassociation.com/events/meat-industry-managementconference.

With representatives in the U.S., Canada and Mexico, and a community of more than 600 companies, NAMA provides its members exceptional regulatory advocacy, educational opportunities, and a spirit of partnership that is unique in the industry. — WLJ
