2013 Winter Roundup "Succeeding in an Industry of Opportunity"
The 2013 Winter Roundup, hosted by the Wyoming Stock Growers Association (WSGA) will be in Casper at the Parkway Plaza Dec. 2-4. The theme, “Succeeding in an Industry of Opportunity,” leads into an educational and exciting convention.
Monday will kick off with the Progressive Rancher Forum where various topics will be presented with speakers from across the state and nation. Zoetis (formally Pfizer) sponsored keynote speaker Dr. Gary Sides will present “Protecting Wyoming’s Livestock.” This will be followed by committee meetings and the President’s Bar and Auction.
Live and silent auction items from across the state will be up for bid during the President’s Bar and Auction on Dec. 3 at 6:30 p.m. If you are interested in any item in the live auction list online at wysga.org, please call the WSGA office to place your bids. Top items include a $2,000 Tuition Waiver to the University of Wyoming (conditions apply), Denver Broncos Special for the Dec. 12 San Diego Chargers game and Northern Livestock Video Auction for one free commission on up to 300 head in one lot.
Sen. Mike Enzi (R-WY), and Wyoming Governor Matt Mead will appear briefly for Wednesday’s closing general session. Enzi will speak during the Legislative Breakfast and the governor will talk during the WSGA Awards luncheon/banquet. This session will feature presentations on, “Your Health Insurance after the Affordable Care Act,” “Strengthening Public Land Grazing” and “Endangered Species—Landowner Tools.”
“We always look forward to getting together at this end of the year conference,” says Jim Magagna, WSGA Executive Vice President. “It is a time for Wyoming’s agricultural community to discuss the issues that affect us, and strategize for the future.”
