Entertainment and education at the 2013 WY Cattle Industry Convention & Tradeshow
The 2013 Wyoming Cattle Industry Convention & Trade Show is June 5-8 at the Little America Hotel & Resort, Inc. in Cheyenne and will gather producers statewide to discuss various aspects of the agricultural industry. Hosted by the Wyoming Stock Growers Association (WSGA), the convention is open to both members and non-members.
Registration opens at Little America at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 5 and the convention kicks off with a dedication of the new addition to the Wyoming Stock Growers Agricultural Resource Center at 5:30 p.m. and a Welcome Reception at 6:30 p.m. at the Depot.
On Thursday, June 6, Keynote Speaker Scott George, National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA) President will present during the Cattlemen’s Club Luncheon.
Attendees will also hear:
• “Agriculture’s Role in our State” from Mark Gordon, State Treasurer
• “Your Wyoming Department of Agriculture” from Jason Fearneyhough, Director
• “Managing Federal Lands to Meet Wyoming’s Expectations” from Moderator Temple Stoellinger, WCCA; Dan Jiron, Regional Forester, Rocky Mountain Region; Nora Rasure, Regional Forester, Intermountain Region; Don Simpson, State Director, Wyoming BLM
Thursday evening will conclude with a reception, raffle and auction at 6:30 p.m. with special entertainment featuring Baxter Black who is bound to put a smile on your face! Tickets $40 per person to the public and includes show and Hors-d’oeuvres; cash bar will also be available.
On Friday, attendees will be served buffet style at the Prayer Breakfast starting at 6:45 a.m. The WSGA Committee Meetings general session will start after. Ashley McDonald, deputy environmental counsel, NCBA, will discuss “The Countless Ways that EPA Affects Your Business” and Dr. Jim Logan, state veterinarian, will speak about “Animal Disease Traceability (ADT) in Wyoming.”
Gov. Matt Mead will speak at the annual Awards Luncheon and the evening will conclude with a social and banquet starting at 7:30 p.m.
The convention will conclude with Saturday’s Roundup Breakfast which will feature invited speakers Sen. Mike Enzi, Sen. John Barrasso, and Rep. Cynthia Lummis.
