—Funding the Future Sale goes online for second year.

The second annual Funding the Future Online sale is set to open Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013. Hosted by showstock.com and etcow. com, bidding will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. (CST). A variety of Shorthorn genetics in the form of sexed embryos and semen plus flush services, are being offered. All proceeds from the sale will go to benefit the American Junior Shorthorn Association.

Two special lots in this year’s online sale include flush services and the freezing of up to six eggs. Services are offered by both Peak View Animal Hospital of Fowler, CO, and OvaTime Genetics of Mason City, IL.

Featuring frozen lots, travel packages and Shorthorn Memorabilia, the Funding the Future Sale began as a live auction held in conjunction with the National Junior Shorthorn Show & Youth Conference to support youth activities in the Shorthorn breed. In 2012, it was decided to expand the sale online to take place in February. The live auction continues to be held at the Junior National and will be June 27, 2013, in Des Moines, IA, this coming summer.

The offering is now available to view online at Show- Stock.com or for more information, please contact Jake Alden, ASA Field Services Representative, at 402/660- 9048. — WLJ
