The board of directors of Western Video Market (WVM) is proud to announce the hiring of Dennis Metzger as the company’s new general manager. Metzger replaces Brad Peek, who will continue to serve as WVM chief operations officer.

“We are extremely happy that Dennis has agreed to take on this position,” Peek said. “His experience meeting the needs of consignors, buyers and representatives will be a huge asset for Western Video Market. Dennis brings a fresh vision to this job and we look to him to facilitate communication among all the folks who go into making WVM a successful auction company.”

Upon taking up the reins, Metzger said, “I can sincerely say it’s an honor to be selected as the general manager of Western Video Market. I’m excited to work with a company whose reputation, industry insight and commitment to the cattle industry is irreplaceable. Western Video Market affiliates and staff will continue the company’s track record of: quality cattle, loyal consignors and satisfied buyers. Western Video has been built on strong leadership, integrity and a constant quest for a better market place. I am committed to those same standards and principles.”

Metzger is a longtime and well-traveled representative for Western Video Market, handling cattle from California to the Mississippi River…and all points in between. Most recently, he has served as western regional manager and director of commercial activity for the American- International Charolais Association. He’s also an experienced auctioneer and ring man who’s worked sales all over the Far West, Rocky Mountain and Plains states. Metzger originally hails from Nebraska but now resides in California with his wife, Dede, and their son, Dalton. — WLJ
