John Norman “Norm” Middleswarth, 86, Torrington, WY

John Norman “Norm” Middleswarth, 86, passed away Jan. 2, 2012, at his home in Torrington. Funeral services were held on Jan. 7 at the Goshen County Fairgrounds Rendezvous Center with Scott Rauscher, Marylee McMillan and Lorriane Lerwick officiating. Burial followed at the Valley View Cemetery in Torrington. Friends may send condolences to the family at www.

Norm was born June 5, 1925, in Cheyenne, WY, the son of Warren and Nellie (Wood) Middleswarth. He lived with his family on a homestead ranch in the Indian Hill Country north of Cheyenne until 1938.

The family then moved to a ranch south of Wheatland, WY. Norm graduated from Wheatland High School in 1943. After high school, he went into the Army Air Corp and served overseas in Guam and Siapan. He was honorably discharged in 1946. Norm married Lois Clark of Wheatland on March 28, 1948. They lived on the south Wheatland ranch until 1959, at which time they moved to a ranch north of Henry, NE. Norm was a cattleman all his life and loved to ranch. In 1955, he responded to the gospel of Jesus and loved serving the Lord the rest of his life.

Survivors include his wife Lois of Torrington; five daughters, JoAnn and husband Ron Johnson of Torrington, Deena and husband George Kleeb of Elko, NV, Shirley and husband JR Buckhaults of Hawk Springs, WY, Nelda and husband Kirk Rider of Denver, CO, and Beth Marlin of Cheyenne, WY; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents; a daughter, Evelyn; a son, Jim; and two brothers.
