“In the past,” says John Knipe, ALC, of Knipe Land Company, “our firm has managed farms and ranches for absentee owners and investors on an on-and-off basis. Our dedicated Farm and Ranch Management Division will now allow us to provide better quality farm, ranch, and timbered land management.”

Knipe is a second-generation Accredited Land Consultant. His firm, Knipe Land Company, Inc., has nearly 70 years of successful relationships in brokering farm and ranch land in Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Montana, and Nevada.

“Many of the buyers that we are selling to,” says Janey Knipe, ALC, “are higher net worth buyers who are buying for investment or for hunting and recreation purposes or for legacy—to pass on to the next generation. Often, these types of investors prefer properties that are already managed, or that can be professionally managed for the highest return. We are seeing a lot of interest from these types of buyers from Hollywood,

Los Angeles, and San Francisco, to name a few.”

Knipe Land Company’s Farm and Ranch Management Division provides a full line of services, including supervising the operation.

“We also offer management service alternatives that work within our clients’ budgets,” says Knipe.

Jim Faber is also part of the Knipe team and he has been in the farm management business for over 30 years, studied agricultural economics at the University of California at Davis, and then went on to complete a Master of Business Administration at Brigham Young University. He has organized operations in Australia, Mexico, Florida, Arizona and California into largescale, low-cost producing and processing niche-market enterprises. In addition, Faber has worked as an ag business development advisor and consultant in Russia, Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, and Moldova. He previously served as the business liaison for the University of Idaho Bioenergy/Bioproducts Team. — WLJ
