Several families are involved in
putting this sale on and they include
Bob and Hollyce Neumeyer, Russ
Emtman and family, Rollin and Helen
Carlson, and Ken and Jodi Olson.
Together they offered an excellent set
of Angus bulls that were strong in both
pedigree and performance. The sale
was held at the Stockland Livestock
Exchange and the seats were nearly
filled to capacity when the sale started.
Good genetics, good people, and
a good sale.

difference in this event. There was a
nice-sized crowd and plenty of Horton
and Leachman hospitality to take care
of the buyers. The bidding was very
active and the auctioneers didn’t
waste any time selling this large offering
of performance and feed conversion
tested bulls and heifers. There
were buyers from 31 states, three
Canadian provinces, Australia, and

A real strong offering of Angus
genetics consigned from some of
Utah’s premier Angus firms was what
the folks found at this sale. The crowd
was decent for this annual sale, however,
many of the good commercial
ranching firms from Wyoming were
missing as a fierce snowstorm combined
with high winds made travel
nearly impossible in that part of the
trade area. With many of the main
highways closed, it was a buying
opportunity for those who did make it
to the sale site. Congratulations to the
consignors for bringing a strong offering
of cattle to this sale.

This sale is billed as the Red,
White and Black sale and that represents
some fine genetics from the
Shorthorn, Charolais and Angus
breeds. Guest consignor with the
Charolais bulls again was TC Cattle
Co., Warden, WA. Roger and Jeff
Schmidt again had everything in order
as the very large crowd kept ducking
inside as the rain fell sporadically
before and during the sale. Cattle sold
to 51 buyers from seven states and
demand was particularly good on the
calving ease bulls. This was a good
solid sale from good solid producers.

The Reyes and Russell families
held their 10th annual high altitude

but this was the case, one of the
deepest, thickest structurally sound
sets offered in this, their annual
Saratoga sale. Couple that with the
high altitude adaptability and you had
the makings of a very solid sale. A
nice crowd of Colorado, Kansas,
Nebraska and Wyoming commercial
cattlemen that were very active.
