Planning is underway for another impressive Montana Stockgrowers Association (MSGA) celebratory parade, Saturday, June 1 at 10 a.m. in Miles City. Everyone is invited to take part in this grand exhibition of history and celebrate MSGA’s 125 years of serving the livestock industry.

The first part of the 125th Anniversary Celebratory Parade will showcase horse- and animal-drawn entries. The second half will feature motorized floats and vehicles from 1959 or earlier (1959 was the 75th celebration of MSGA). The Forest Service’s Pack Mule Train, the 7th Cavalry Drum and Bugle Corps, three wagon trains, the Montana Beef Council, and the Montana Woolgrowers Association are already planning to participate in the parade.

An extensive parade down Miles City’s Main Street is a common thread between every Montana Stockgrowers celebration. MSGA’s past parades have been memorable for their spectacular teams and carriages, men wearing beards grown for the event, strings of horses on Main Street, and families dressed in period costume, even if they weren’t in the parade.

MSGA’s past presidents will serve as the Grand Marshalls of the 125th Anniversary Celebratory Parade. For more information visit www.mtbeef.org or call 406/853-0411 or 406/ 442-3420. —WLJ
