Food safety bill passes Senate, future uncertain

The Food Safety Modernization Act (S. 510), which looked to be set to sail toward passage two weeks ago, may now be hung up on a technicality that wont be easy to overcome. The bill, which passed the Senate last week on a 73 to 25 vote on Nov. 30, was passed with an amendment that may derail the bill.
