End to ethanol subsidies could be near

The push to end subsidies for the ethanol industry got stronger last week as a group of environmentalists, food activists, livestock producers, food companies, taxpayer organizations and others sent a request to Congress to allow the 45 cent per gallon ethanol tax credit to expire at the end of the year.
