Cattle on feed numbers continue to trend lower

Apr 30, 2010
Cattle on feed numbers were reported at 10.8 million head, down 3.5 percent from the April 1, 2009, figure reported by the National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS). The number of cattle in feedlots of 1,000 head or more has been lagging year-ago totals, adding a great deal of support to the market since the fourth quarter of last year.
