On feed numbers grow for the first time in 18 months
For the first time in a year-and-a-half, the number of cattle on feed in the U.S. increased from prior-year levels. USDAs National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) reported that there are 10.5 million head on feed as of Oct. 1, an increase of 1 percent from the same date last year.
