Corn maturity lags well behind normal pace
USDAs latest corn crop progress shows that this years plantings are catching up on average maturity in many areas. Although the crop still lags behind the normal maturity pace, the crop was rated 69 percent good-to-excellent, 8 percent above last years crop, mostly as a result of good moisture in most areas through the summer.
