USDA projects corn crop at 12.1 billion bushels

Last week, USDA increased its projections for the use of corn to make ethanol by 4.1 billion bushels for the 2009/10 marketing year. That marked a jump of 350 million bushels over projected use in 2008/09. In its monthly World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates report, USDA also boosted its 2008/09 ethanol use forecast by 50 million bushels to 3.
