Montana to allow horse slaughter

Legislation to allow investor-owned horse slaughterhouses in Montana became law in April when Gov. Brian Schweitzer allowed the time for bill signing to pass. Friday, May 1 was the deadline for the governor to veto the bill. Instead, he chose not to sign or veto the legislation.
