EU expands beef quota

Last week, the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR), Ron Kirk, claimed victory in the ongoing dispute over shipments of U.S. beef to the 27 member nations of the European Union (EU). Trade commissioner for EU, Catherine Ashton, agreed to increase the tariff-free quota allowed into Europe to 20,000 tons for the next three years.
