Weather slows planting

The 2009 corn crop is off to a very slow start, according to US- DAs National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS), which released the second weekly crop report of the season last week. The field conditions in much of the U.S. are wet and muddy, which is delaying the start of work in many states.
