States stand against federal horse slaughter ban

In an effort to provide a solution to the over-population of horses in the U.S. since the last domestic slaughter plants were shuttered in Texas and Illinois two years ago, 12 states are considering the issue. Those states are in the process of either expressing support of the industry within their states or actively attempting to re-establish a plant.
